Celebrating Gouranga Chattopadhyay

Gouranga, known to all as GC, brought Group relations to India in 1973. GC gave us in India, the gift of Group Relations, but more importantly transmitted to us the love for GR. He was a friend to all, enthralled us with his vivid stories, adventurous experiences of every hue, and his zest for life .

A teacher, an academic and practitioner in management education, behavioural science and group relations in particular, a prolific writer and poet, a person of deep political principles, a committed practitioner of yoga and spirituality, a bengali at heart and global in spirit, it is impossible to enumerate the many facets  and contributions of Gouranga. This write up by Somanto Chattopadhyay captures the journey of GC and his contributions. GC shared his journey from the early 70’s as part of a session in the first edition of Koodam. This is also transcribed and is available as part of the Koodam Working Paper Series 1. (pgs 46-48)

Some of us had the good fortune of working with him , and knowing him closely for decades, can say with confidence that our greatest tribute to him is to live GR, as he did.

We invite you to share your rememberance and in celebrating GC.

In case you have some pictures of him at work, do share with us at office@grouprelationsindia.org. Please post a new comment in case you want to say something as replies are not enabled.
